Our hypertufa planters are cast and carved by hand. The 24" charcoal cauldron is generally in stock and ready for placement. Custom shapes and/or colors are available but require six weeks to produce.
Dimensions are 24" outer diameter, 16" inner diameter, 18" height. The cavity holds about 5 gallons of soil/water. Dry weight is approximately 120 pounds.
Hypertufa is a mixture of cement, peat moss, and vermiculite. In addition to pigment, we also add ingredients to improve strength and durability -- on top of an internal steel frame.
These planters are somewhat porous -- similar to terra cotta. For this reason, care should be taken when used in areas that experience freezing temperatures.
These castings make wonderful fountains as well. A number of different configurations are possible. Contact us for details.
